Crowns
Restored Teeth, Renewed Function
Dental crowns are a natural-looking solution to cracked, broken, decayed,
or worn teeth. Since they're designed to fit snugly and function as your
normal teeth, they protect your teeth from damage and preserve jaw alignment.
Further, the all-porcelain crowns can allow for truly precise color matching
while providing long-term durability.
Expert Preparation
It usually takes about two appointments to design and fit crowns. First,
Dr. Pearsall will carefully numb your mouth and prepare the recipient
teeth by gently removing the outer portion. Using expert judgement, he'll
eliminate the decay and create the size and shape needed to accommodate
the crown. Finally, he'll take an impression of your teeth to send to
the laboratory for fabrication of your custom crowns. The fabrication
takes about 2 weeks, during which we'll fit you with a temporary crown
to protect your teeth and gums.
Careful Application
When the crowns are ready, Dr. Pearsall will simply remove the temporary
crowns, then fit and adjust the permanent ones into place. After a careful
evaluation for appearance, color match, bite discrepancies, and fit, he'll
cement the crown into place. Your responsibility then becomes careful
brushing and flossing, and regular professional care
to protect the
base from bacterial growth.
